Grandeur

The difference is clear, when I get a chance to work with professional images, the sky is the limit. Mesha took pics especially for this flyer, so I had to make sure the final result was above and beyond what she had in mind. Another satisfied client.

Whatever Wednesdays 2nd Edition

When I use color in a flyer, I'm usually looking for colors that match the main subject. But in this case I wanted the main subjects too be the color, and the background to be something that would blend nicely with that. This client made an interesting point that summer event flyers should be bright and colorful and the winter events that more dark sexy feel. So my goal especially for this client is to make the flyers colorful yet have that sexy feel.

LINK UP

The client came to me with very specific needs for this flyer. Since this was gonna be a multicultural event she wanted something that both cultures could identify with. Since phone cards are a big part of the caribbean-american culture, she wanted the flyer to embody that but still have a party feel too it. I think I captured it, and she was happy with the final outcome.
BACKSTORY: The name of the event had to be changed to SUNDANCE. It so happens that the word Linkup is used by a big Jamaican promoter who has beef with other promoters and djs. So because of that, dj's neglected to promote the party "Linkup" because of the name association. As a result the promoters were forced to scrap the name and the flyers printed, and redo a whole new set with the Sundance theme.

Madness On The Water 2011

I like creating flyers, but I'm getting bored with doing the same "safe" formulaic stuff. I want to push the envelope with it too see how far I can go, or the client would let me go. I was struggling with the concept, couldn't find anything that captured madness without being too literal. So I stalled as long as I could (sorry Joseph), trying to find something that worked. Then I stumbled upon a site with images galore and I found this gem. I added a few things that went along with the theme, and my boy loved it. Hope to be doing more crazy outlandish shit like this in the future.
