I was listening to Stones Throw podcast and was inspired to design these covers, real simple just focusing on the text elements. Stones Throw would never do a cover like this though it's too conventional, their style is a little more abstract, just like their music.

Another Cover...shit this blog is turning into a mixtape cover blog. I really need to get back to more creative work. And yeah the text is hard too read...just think of it like graffiti which is also hard to read.

I've joined an online community for photoshop enthusiast of the mixtape genre. While most of the work is not that good, there are a handful of them who actually have some decent skills. This community helps me with my own work by critiquing my work and also engaging in some friendly competition. It's been cool, so i'll be posting alot of mixtape art in the near future.
It's been awhile since I've done my movie poster series, even longer for a political piece. With all the shit going on, it just seems like the country is falling apart, perfect plot for a movie...who will be the one to lead us out of this mess or is it too late.
Had to revise this image because there were a few things that weren't working very well, still a work in progress, but I feel better about this one.
I'm teaching myself how to draw again and re-learning illustrator.
