DEMOCRATIC PARADE

Democratic Parade:
Obama is gearing up for his 2012 presidential campaign. The landscape is not as rosy as it was when he first ran. The country is in a mess, which is not his doing of course, but he did the best he could out of a bad situation.
So now he rides a downtrodden party (represented by the donkey) to a new campaign for re-election in a dirty environment...yet and still keeping his head high.

Mitt Romney will be gunnin for Obama's Job this year, will he be on target with his message, or will he miss his chance again.

She Helped Me Overcome My Fears (working title)

The Resignation of Steve Jobs (The Cult Of Mac)

In the article I read that said Steve Jobs was resigning, they mentioned the cult like following that Mac users are supposedly a part of, and that Apple has become almost like a religion. So if Apple is the religion then Steve would be the Messiah. This is my representation of that.

Megalomaniac (Gadhafi)

This was for the "Week in News" contest over at FN. Gadhafi will kill whoever opposes his regime or die a martyr. Journalist have labeled him a megalomanic. Image placed 5th out of 24 entries.  

Libyan Democracy

I entered this piece at FN for the week in news contest. With all the violence going on in Libya for the leader Muamaar Ghadafi to step down, his son Saif said in his interview with cnn, that his country is a democracy and if elections were held tomorrow his father would win by a large margin. I find that very interesting. So the image is a representation of how they would pull something like that off. This image placed first out of 12 entries.

Happy Meal

Haven't had much time to compete on the FreakingNews.com site. I've been busy with client work. I found some time over the weekend to finish this piece, which I started the week prior. I was struggling with this one at first, but the concept finally came together after tons of revisions. This piece came in second out of 44 entries.

A toy that was part of a Happy Meal, finally gets his own burger, yummy.

Freaking Cheers

Backwood Dealings

Another entry for FreakingNews. The theme was Camping Boys...manipulate the image of the boys any way you choose.
Image placed fourth amongst 42 entries.
Image Description: Due to the bees dying, honey has become scarce... unfortunately it can only be found in the most unexpected areas on the black market. Better in full view.

Old man and the Sea.

The shark was actually inspired by a concept car. Once I created it, the shark was alone in this big blue sea...I guess he scared all the other fish away. The only thing I could think of to make this more interesting was a fisherman, and it just took me back to a book I read when I was a kid...The Old man and the Sea.

A day of joy, her head is in the clouds and sometimes they can force you into this box where you have to marry them or suffer the consequences...it's all about her.

Mr. Freeze

My first win on FreakingNews.com. This was for "The Week In News" contest. Obama proposes a spending freeze for the next 5 years. So I made him into the Mr. Freeze character from Batman.

Fallen

Inspired by my favorite artist Salvador Dali and my new favorite Rene Magritte.

This was another freakingnews.com entry. I think this is probably one of the best pieces I've ever done, but unfortunately this image placed 5th out of 38th entries, but no biggie either way it's all in fun. The whole purpose of me being on the site is not too win contest (secretly I do) but it's really a way for me to think outside the box and create imagery that I wouldn't usually make. Cocaine Lab Bust

This was another entry for FreakingNews.com. This entry was about choosing a story in the news for the week of Jan 17 - 23. Mines was about a cocaine lab bust in Spain. To make things a little more interesting, I used an image of Bill Nye the science guy, referencing him as the head of the lab, since he is a scientist...knowing damn well that Bill would never be in such a scenario. This image came in second, out of 16 entries. Click link to see other entries.

Going On Vacation

This entry came second in the Freaking News website competition. Follow link to see other entries. The theme of this contest was Penguin Awareness Day. My interpretation of it is, that some penguins choose to go on vacation of this day.

King Rock

This was my entry for the Kid Rock competition on FreakingNews.com, and I got my ass kicked. Overall placing was 6 out of 37. Stiff competition. My next entry is pretty dope, can't wait to see what I'll be up against. 

Kids In The Hood

Needed some inspiration, was getting bored with what I was doing in my personal projects. So I decided to join FreakingNews.com, a photoshop competition site, where other photoshop enthusiast compete amongst each other on different themes.

The theme was Kids in the Hood, based on the image of the boy and the girl...but you could pretty much do whatever you wanted to with the image of the kids. This was my very first submission and I came 4th out of 44 other entries. The site rates the top 4 and I even got a trophy Icon, lol. I was in good company too, the top 3 are like the dominant members of the site, so I didn't feel too bad that I didn't come in first...maybe next round. Once the next competition ends I will display my current entry and standing.
