By Mischief, i had done a couple of flyers, and I had learned my lesson, because the feedback I received was, the front was nice, but the flyer itself was hard to read. So this flyer had to be more legible, and I went big with everything for more impact. Since the front of the flyer was dark, I decided to make the back brighter...but the end result was it looked like 2 different flyers
LESSON LEARNED: Keep the theme throughout the process.

I clipped a few images to create a collage, but never used them, so then I decided to create the collage in photoshop, but while scanning them in without the scan cover and the lights out, it created an image that I wasn't expecting and eventually gave me the idea to create the collage on the scanner and just nap a picture of it. I wonder how creative I can make images with just scans.

Sometimes in life we are forced to make choices, good or bad, and the choice we make can change our lives forever. We'll I'm faced with one of those choices and my life will be forever changed.

The Protector

I didn't have any motivation these last few days, been feeling tired and slightly depressed, maybe it the freezing cold weather that makes me just want to lay down and sleep all day. Anyway I at least wanted to complete one thing this weekend and I had a couple of ideas swirling around in my head...but this wasn't one of them. I took the easy route, I didn't want to do much work so I tried to create something that was easy for me too accomplish.

I wanted to make this piece a little bit more robust, but the computer I'm using right now can't really handle all these layers, and started slowing down almost too a crash. So when I get a better system I'll try to push it as far as I can go with the abstract pieces.

Final front and Back.
This is a flyer I'm currently working on for a party me and my boys are throwing in Dec. My boy came up with the name and I automatically remembered this ad for KY jelly of the man and woman laying in bed like they just had sex or was about to have sex.

The only problem was it's an urban party and the original image of a white man and woman wouldn't have appealed to our demographic, so my biggest challenge for this was making it look like it was a black couple and make it look believable. In my search for a woman I could only get Beyonce with the right angle and expression, and trying to find a guy was even harder...but I just so happened to find a pic of Jay walking away with his head slightly turned, how ironic.

I totally crashed and burned with the back of the flyer. I simply did not know what to do with the back...at the time I had just started doing flyers again, and was still figuring how to lay them out in different styles, and how they work in the actual party and promotions setting.

LESSON LEARNED: Flyers have too pop, and they must be easy to read.

Eve & Adam Revised

I think that my game has stepped up some, cause now I'm noticing flaws in previous works, and now I'm able to shape the image and ideas a little bit clearer in the revisions. It definetly shows growth and I have been looking for a gauge on how to track my progress and growth...and I think this way shows me how much I've grown from the previous year.

I'm really motivated to create surreal images right now, partly because I get the most satisfaction from these types of images. I think it's more creative and there are no rules to surrealism it's anything goes, what's going on in the scene does not have to abide by any rules of the physical world and I like to operate with no rules.

This image was done last year but I always felt like it was missing something. Today while I was on the train to work, it just suddenly hit me... to make this image as grungey as possible. This one is an instant classic, i'll think I'll blow this one up and put it on my wall.

Every once in awhile I create an image that looks like it was meant to be. This is one of those images. Everything came together so perfectly and I had all the right pieces to go with it. This is an example of how I want all my images to be.

I'M BACK....Rapture 002

After a few weeks hiatus because of assholes breaking into my apartment and stealing my computer and monitor, I'm finally back up and running.
This is one the three images I created since I've been back up and it seems like the break has done me well, no thanks to the thieves of course.
This is another one in my Rapture series...which is essentially taking an explicit image and making it artistic.

Bastards broke into my apartment stole my computer and my television. So I won't be posting anything for awhile until I get a new computer.

Some more experimentation with this sort of free association black and white projects. I just compile a series of vectors and brushes to come up with something that's recognizable.

I'm bored with my style, it's starting to look repetitive, so I'm trying different things to hopefully inspire me into a new and different direction.
