The title has nothing to do with the image really, but yesterday alot of my coworkers were laid off as a result of the economic crisis. I was calling the events that took place the April Fools Day Massacre, so since I finished this piece on that day, it's kind of a tribute to my coworkers.
The client didn't like this design, so I may use it again. I think this shit is hot as hell, but that's just me.
Obviously I hadn't yet learned the lesson, because I went again with the different styles on the front an back, But I think the real issue was that I didn't know how to layout the text for the back and make it co-hesive with the front. I had gotten the concept from the Cocaine Cowboys movie poster, but didn't know what to do with the back yet again. Thus another flyer that looks like it was for two different parties.
This is a culmination of all my interest in one image. Hip Hop, Surrealism, Expression, Movies, Politics, People, Aliens and Fashion. It's also a representation of the enigma of Hip Hop culture.
This year I'm trying to experiment as much as I can, with my images. I'm not going to hold back on anything and try to be as open-minded as possible, and see how far it takes me.

I clipped a few images to create a collage, but never used them, so then I decided to create the collage in photoshop, but while scanning them in without the scan cover and the lights out, it created an image that I wasn't expecting and eventually gave me the idea to create the collage on the scanner and just nap a picture of it. I wonder how creative I can make images with just scans.
